In the meantime some additional information on our speakers and the topics they will be covering is detailed below….

Will Burrows – LHS Partner and Head of Employment Law, Will is the solicitor responsible for the largest discrimination claim presently in the Employment Tribunal system.

Equal opportunities and treatment in the workplace has had much media attention recently.

Issues such as; equal pay, maternity and paternity rights, and career progression have been key to the labour policies of successive governments.

Plans for strengthening those rights are likely to play a prominent role in each of the main political parties’ election manifestos.

As HR Managers and Business Owners, it is up to you to ensure that your business is safe when operational decisions are made, policies are implemented, or promotions are awarded.

Will will therefore cover the following topics during his section of the seminar:

•Identifying the risk of indirect discrimination

•Major flash points that are likely to lead to claims or accusations

•Parental rights and flexible working

•Recruitment and promotion

Andrew Holder – Director of J. M. Glendinning Financial Services Ltd, Andrew has a wealth of experience in Corporate Financial Planning

By April 2015 employers with less than 50 employees reach their staging date for Pensions and Auto-Enrolment. By June 2015, some micro employers will also be affected.

Adherence with the new rules is complex and non-compliance is not an option, with serious penalties levied at those who fail to take their duties seriously.

Andrew will therefore be covering the following topics during his section of the seminar: •What Auto-Enrolment will mean to your business

•What your duties are as an employer

•Which Pension Scheme should you use

•What your risks are if you get it wrong

•How to get the appropriate help
