Health & Safety Training
Health and Safety training is vital for any organisation for 3 key reasons:
- To communicate operational safety procedures and standards required under legislation to employees
- To develop a Health and Safety awareness culture throughout employees
- To help defend the organisation in the event of either civil or criminal interrogation
At Lighthouse, our Health and Safety consultants can deliver a variety of training courses to your employees as part of your ‘Competent Person’ support contract.
This could be an in-house session on a particular topic or a course following a specific syllabus which comes with accredited certification.
In addition, Lighthouse also offer a range of E-Learning courses for delegates to complete at their leisure.
In-house Courses
The most popular method of training delivery amongst Lighthouse clients is to ask their Health and Safety consultant to conduct in-house courses.
These are classroom based sessions, covering specific operational procedures of the client whilst tying in awareness of the relevant UK Health and Safety legislation.
Popular courses include:
- Manual Handling
- Asbestos Awareness
- Working at Height
- Risk Assessment
- Fire Safety
- Fire Warden
- Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER)
- Personal Protective Equipment
- Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)
Accredited Courses
Lighthouse clients may ask their Health and Safety consultants to deliver accredited training – courses which follow a specific syllabus and carry accredited certificates.
Popular courses include:
- First Aid Training – both ‘Full’ 3 day and ‘Emergency’ 1 day courses
- IOSH Training including:
- Working Safely
- Managing Safely
- Leading Safely
- Accredited courses by topic such as:
- Level 2 / Level 3 courses for specific subject areas
E-Learning Training
Lighthouse can provide access to a wide range of E-Learning training options for your organisation.
E-Learning can often be the preferred method of training as it allows flexibility, meaning that courses can be completed in the delegate’s own time and there is no requirement for logistics such as sourcing a suitable classroom.
All Lighthouse ‘Competent Person’ support contract clients are provided with 10 E-Learning credits free of charge within their annual agreement.
